The initiative proposes that hotels and tourist accommodation providers offer free rooms or stays to families facing particularly difficult circumstances. The project was presented during the IDILIQ Foundation\u2019s annual gala, held in Mijas in front of an audience of around 300 people.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundation IDILIQ<\/a> has presented Room for Kindness<\/strong>, a new initiative that aims to extend its commitment to families who need a break and a chance to switch off due to illness, long-term treatment or other complex personal circumstances to the entire hotel sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was unveiled during the annual gala Stronger Together<\/strong>, held at the Safari Restaurant, located at the Wyndham Costa del Sol. Around 300 people took part in an event that brought together associations, companies, institutions, the media, partners, ambassadors and volunteers involved in the Foundation\u2019s charitable work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Room for Kindness grew out of the experience of Kind Holidays by IDILIQ<\/strong>, the \u00abHolidays with a Heart\u00bb programme, through which the Foundation provides free holidays to families facing particularly difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the gala, the president of the IDILIQ Foundation, Juan Miguel Marcos<\/strong>, announced that the programme has enabled 100 Spanish families to enjoy a holiday this year. He also confirmed that the programme will be offered again in 2027 one hundred weeks\u2019 free accommodation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abThere are a hundred opportunities to catch your breath and a hundred moments to see each other again as a family on holiday, rather than as a family preoccupied with medical treatments, hospitals or problems,\u00bb he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Building on this experience, the Foundation aims to expand the scope of the project and involve other companies in the tourism sector. Room for Kindness invites hotels and accommodation providers to make rooms or accommodation available to families who need a break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vice-President of the IDILIQ Foundation, Miriam Palaz\u00f3n<\/strong>, he emphasised that the initiative aims to capitalise on one of the hotel sector\u2019s key strengths: hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abThe hospitality sector knows better than anyone what it means to welcome people. We know how to create memories, offer rest and make people feel looked after. With Room for Kindness, we aim to use precisely that talent to help those who need it most,\u00bb he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tourism, commitment and collective action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The gala also provided an opportunity to reflect on the history of the IDILIQ Foundation, established in 1999, and to highlight some of the social causes it supports. The stories of its beneficiaries highlighted how cooperation between businesses, institutions and civil society can have a direct impact on people\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Regional Government of Andalusia, M\u00e1laga Provincial Council and the Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol, as well as officials from the town councils of Fuengirola, Benalm\u00e1dena, Torremolinos and Mijas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The mayor of Mijas, Ana Mata<\/strong>, acknowledged the Foundation\u2019s spirit of solidarity and its commitment to initiatives aimed at improving people\u2019s quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their presence provided an opportunity to experience \u2018Room for Kindness\u2019 first-hand and to share an evening with its organisers, characterised by solidarity, cooperation and the tourism sector\u2019s commitment to social responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gala featured Wyndham Grand Cap Cana<\/strong> as the main sponsor and with the support of numerous partner companies and organisations. Those present also enjoyed a performance by the singer from M\u00e1laga Javier Ojeda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
