Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport has surpassed the three million passenger mark for the first time in a July, driven primarily by growth in international traffic. This new record confirms the importance of air connectivity to the destination's tourism strength.
A July with over three million travelers
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport continues to expand its activity records. During the past month of July, it recorded 3,046,818 passengers and 20,839 operations, which implies increases in 6.3 % in passengers and 5.2 % in movements compared to the same month in 2025, according to the latest data published by Aena.
Beyond the overall volume, the figures particularly highlight the strength of Málaga Airport's international traffic. Of the passengers who used commercial flights during July, 2,559,157 traveled on international connections, 7.3% more than a year earlier, compared with 484,650 passengers on domestic flights.
The United Kingdom maintains its leadership
The British market continues to occupy a clearly prominent position, with 702,883 international passengers during July. Next came Germany, with 215,989 travelers; Italy, with 170,770; France, with 163,992; and the Netherlands, with 149,782.
The distribution once again highlights the strong connection between Malaga and the Costa del Sol with its main European markets, but also the growing importance of having a broad and diversified air network to maintain the international competitiveness of the destination.
More than 16 million passengers since January
The growth is not limited to July's performance. Between January and July 2026 16,273,343 travelerspassengers passed through Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, 6.6% more than during the same period of the previous year.
In those seven months, the following have also been managed 112,227 aircraft movements, 4.6% more than in 2025.International traffic is once again a key factor: 13.57 million commercial passengers travelled to or from destinations outside Spain, representing cumulative growth of 7%.
Connectivity, a strategic asset for the Costa del Sol
