Nearly seven decades of history leave much more than dates. They leave behind names, photographs, documents, places, encounters, anecdotes, and memories that help us understand where we come from.

Back to the beginning
We want to go back to 1958 and discover how Skål Málaga-Costa del Sol was born.
We want to revisit the international congresses that brought tourism professionals from around the world to the Costa del Sol, reconstruct the history of Skål Street in Torremolinos, remember the people who made each stage possible, and follow the path that would eventually turn Torremolinos into the world headquarters of Skål International. But we don't want to do it simply by collecting dates.
In search of our history
We will look for it wherever it has been preserved.
In archives, photographs, letters, minutes, publications, programmes, and personal mementos.
We will talk to those who lived through it, those who preserved their documents, those who can still help us identify the people, dates and context behind many images and events.
Because behind every document there can be a story. And behind every story, there are people who helped build what we know today as Skål.
Some will be familiar stories. Others may have been stored for decades in a folder, a drawer, or an old photo album.
A story we want to build together
We also want our members and readers to be part of Skål History.

An image tucked away in someone's family album may help us rediscover an important moment in our history.
Little by little, we will gather these pieces, compare the information and turn those memories into stories worth sharing.

Who was there.
How it all began.
What documents are preserved.
What do those who knew the people involved remember?
And from there, we will continue moving forward through a story closely linked to the development of tourism in Málaga and the Costa del Sol.
We don't yet know what we will find.
And that's precisely part of the adventure.
