The Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, joins in the launch of Sinergia Skål with remarks highlighting the close historical relationship between Skål International Málaga-Costa del Sol and the evolution of tourism in our destination. Talking about Skål in Málaga and on the Costa del Sol, this represents a unique and significant chapter in the history of our tourism industry. Skål International Málaga-Costa del Sol was founded in 1958, precisely during the years when the great transformation began that would ultimately establish our destination as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations.
Since then, Skål has supported this evolution, fostering networking, cooperation, and the exchange of experiences among professionals in a sector that has been crucial to the economic and social development of Málaga and the entire Costa del Sol. This close relationship took on a particularly significant dimension when Torremolinos became home to the Skål International General Secretariat in 1985. Its headquarters have remained in our province ever since.
That's why it's especially fitting that an organization with such a long history linked to our destination is now launching Sinergia Skål, a new magazine designed to connect people, knowledge, experiences, and ideas related to tourism. This initiative brings to the digital realm a commitment to collaboration and connection that Skål has cultivated for decades.
Tourism today faces new challenges that require us to continue innovating, to move towards increasingly sustainable and balanced models, and above all, to maintain open cooperation between government agencies, businesses, and professionals. Spaces like Sinergia Skål can contribute to sharing experiences, anticipating these challenges, and generating new opportunities.
